New York: After the announcement of ‘Harry Potter’ spin-off, ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’, filmmaker David Yates is all set to direct the films of the franchise.

The massive commercial success and huge fan base of the Harry Potter films encouraged author JK Rowling to come up with the spin-off, ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’. Initially, it was announced that the spin-off would consist of three films but later it was expanded to five films.

JK Rowling will be more involved in the Fantastic Beasts series as she will be writing the screenplay of them as well.

David Yates directed the last four of the Harry Potter films and garnered a lot of praise worldwide for his direction. The 53-year-old filmmaker has been handed the task of directing all the Fantastic Beasts films and has already started working on them.

First ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ film is set to release in November, 2018 while the second film is already in the pre-production stage.

Fantastic Beasts is a prequel to Harry Potter series which features Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston and Dan Fogler.
