NEW DELHI: Bajrangi Bhaijaan featuring Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Harshaali Malhotra had hit the theatres last week and in its opening weekend itself, the movie has become a blockbuster hit. While people cannot stop praising Harshaali and Salman for their incredible performance, there are many who believe that Nawaz actually stole the show.
Released on the occasion of Eid, the movie was not a treat to only Indian fans as it garnered the same amount of appreciation and love from Pakistan too.
According to the reports, the neighbouring country too went crazy for the movie and for the real Pakistani journalist Chand Nawab, who Nawazuddin plays in the movie, is boasting with pride in his nation. In a recent interview to a leading daily here, Chand, originally from Karachi was quoted saying, “I saw the film on the first day it was released in Pakistan. And I was very happy with the way Nawazuddin Siddiqui portrayed me in Bajrangi Bhaijaan.”
Well, his video that had gone viral in 2008 had given him a lot of viewers but it appears that was not enough as the huge-success of Bajrangi Bhaijaan got this Karachi-based Indus News reporter all the name and fame once again.
Thanking Salman, Nawaz and the director of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Kabir Khan for portraying him and Pakistan in the movie, Chand added, “I was on a TV show with Kabir Khan and he suggested I should come to Mumbai and work in films.”
He further shared his wish of watching the movie with his wife but unfortunately she passed away last year.
