Anurag Basu directorial ‘Jagga Jasoos’ starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have hit the silver screens on Friday.

The movie has managed to mint Rs 8.57 crore on its opening day in India on Friday, reports trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

The story of ‘Jagga Jasoos’ revolves around the life of Ranbir (Jagga), a school boy, who is in search of his missing father played by Saswata Chatterjee. Katrina Kaif plays the role of Shruti Sengupta, a journalist, who later helps Ranbir find his father.


Disney and Pictureshuru Productions’ ‘Jagga Jasoos’ is directed by Anurag Basu. The film also stars Sayani Gupta and Saurabh Shukla.

‘Jagga Jasoos’ marks the second collaboration of Basu and Ranbir after ‘Barfi!’.

However, this is not the first time Katrina and Ranbir have shared screen space together. The two have previously starred in films like ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ and ‘Raajneeti’.
