All eyes are on the box office in Tamil Nadu with one of the biggest releases of the year ‘Vivegam’ hitting theatres on August 24 . Thala Ajith’s biggest blockbuster is releasing in 700 screens in Tamil Nadu and worldwide, it will release in about 2000 screens. The latest news is that Ajith and his family have watched the film already and are excited to see the reaction of the audiences.

In fact, in Chennai in Sathyam Cinemas, Palazzo and Escape, there are about 90 shows of the film playing on the first day of release. In Luxe Cinemas, there are 32 shows of Vivegam on the first day. And as of now, all tickets are sold out for the first day in these theatres.

Ajith is known as the box office king and the film industry is looking at how much Vivegam will collect on the first day. Ajith’s last film, Vedhalam, released two years back and made about Rs 15.5 crore on the first day. However, as of now, it is Rajinikanth’s Kabali that holds the box office record for day one. It collected around Rs 21.5 crore on the first day.

Produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, there has been no pinching on the budget of the film. Vivegam was shot across Europe and is touted to be Ajith’s best action film. Now, we need to wait and watch to see if Vivegam becomes the biggest opener in Kollywood.

The editor of the film, Antony L Ruben, also said that the spy thriller’s visual effects will be at par with the megahit ‘Baahubali’. “I can proudly say that ‘Vivegam’ will be on par with ‘Baahubali’ regarding the technical aspects and grandeur,” Ruben said.
