Adult star-turned Bollywood Actress Sunny Leone becomes the latest ‘victim’ of city-based group Hindu Yuva Vahini who began protesting against the ad on one of the poster’s location.

According to the protesters in Gujarat, the Manforce condom ad has hurt the religious sentiments of Hindu’s as Navratri is their sacred festival.

The message on the hoarding which is written in Gujarati says, ‘Aa Navratri a ramo, parantu premthi’ – this Navratri, play but with love. This has eventually sparked rage across the state following protests against Mankind Pharma as well as Sunny Leone who is also the brand ambassador of Manforce condoms, for disrespecting the sacred festival of Hindu Gods and Goddesses.

The Confederation of All India Traders wrote a letter to Minister for Consumer Affairs Ram Vilas Paswan calling this tactic a “clear irresponsible and immature attempt to boost sales by putting all our cultural value system at stake”.

Signed by National Secretary General of CAIT Praveen Khandelwal, the letter accuses Sunny Leone of being irresponsible and going to any level to earn money or promote her product.

The protesters have threatened to take ‘severe’ steps if the hoardings are not taken down.
