Well the much-awaited reboot of Salman Khan‘s ‘Judwaa’, now starring Varun Dhawan — Judwaa 2, has already the screens across the world and people just can’t stop parsing it. David Dhawan directed, Judwaa 2 marks the 9th release of the star. Varun Dhawan, who is known for giving back-to-back 8 hits from ‘Student of The Year’ to ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya’, has said that he had to prove his capabilities to his father and also producer Nadiadwala before he could get into Salman Khan’s shoes for Judwaa 2.

Judwaa 2, which stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu opposite Varun Dhawan hits the screen today, with Varun all set to bring back the 1997 hit ‘Raja’ and ‘Prem’ characters back to life.

The film has been making a lot of buzz since the time the movie was announced. With Judwaa 2, the father-son duo is coming together for the second time, with firstly seen in Main Tera Hero.

Commenting on the movie, Varun Dhawan said that coming again for the second time with father (David Dhawan) was ‘novel and unique’. He further added that he has tried to portray the twin characters in his own way and the movie is total fresh.

While speaking to Firstpost about the reboot, Varun Dhawan said, “It has been 20 years since Salman’s Judwaa released. I am a 90s kid who has grown up watching all these films but what about teenagers — 14, 15, 16 year olds who did not see the original Judwaa? Today, they are the new cine goers, and this genre has become quite rare.”

As the movie releases today, Varun Dhawan had had also expressed his concerns of the movie. He said that he is pretty much aware that the comparisons will be done between his and Salman’s character, but he just do not want to upset Salman Khans’s fan following.
