Bharti Singh faces legal action after FIR filed against her for allegedly injuring religious sentiments

Bharti apologised for the popular video on her social media account, saying that her intentions were not to offend anyone’s religious beliefs.

Bharti Singh, the popular television host, has once again found herself in hot water. An FIR has been filed against the comedian for hurting the sensibilities of the Sikh community with a joke about moustaches and beards in an old video, in a surprising turn of events.

At the Adampur police station in Jalandhar, a FIR has been filed against the comedian. The probe was opened after Ravidas Tiger Force head JassiTallan filed a complaint.

According to recent reports, Bharti Singh was accused of ridiculing Sikhs in an old video by displaying their moustaches and beards. According to authorities, she has been accused under Section 295-A of the Indian Penal Code (deliberate and malicious acts meant to offend religious emotions).

The comedian recently responded to the criticism she received for her joking with pal Jasmin Bhasin about ‘daadi mooch’ (beard and moustache). Bharti apologised for the popular video on her social media account, saying that her intentions were not to offend anyone’s religious beliefs.

Bharti claimed in an old viral video that drinking milk while wearing a beard tastes like sewaiyan. She also mentions men who have lice in their beards. The film, which also stars Jasmin Bhasin, has gone viral on the internet, angering the Sikh community by mocking beards and moustaches.
