The much anticipated film of 2017, Judwaa 2 had finally hit the theaters on Friday, 29 September and the Varun Dhawan starrer managed to get an excellent opening at the box office. The film, which crossed the Rs 50-crore mark in its opening weekend, continues to shine bright as Judwaa 2 has collected Rs 18 crore on Monday, thus taking the total to Rs 77.25 crore.

The movie entered the box office with grace collecting 16.10 crores on the first day and after creating its bagic among the audience, the film collected 20.55 crores on its 2nd day. Sunday was big day for the film as it collected 22.60 crores taking the first weekend to 59.25 crores.

Also, extended weekend because of Gandhi Jayanti has worked in favour of David Dhawan’s directorial venture. This also marks Varun’s second biggest hit of 2017 after Badrinath Ki Dulhania.

Judwaa 2, starring Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles is a reboot of David Dhawan’s 1997 hit Judwaa, which had Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Rambha in the leading roles. Although the film is criticized by critics, fans continue to love the film.

Judwaa 2 revolves around the story of identical twins Raja and Prem , who were separated at birth and grow up to be polar opposites of each other. Raja’s arrival in London, the city where Prem lives, triggers a series of hilarious events, stemming from mistaken identity. The “original Judwaa” Salman makes a special appearance at the end of the film.

Sajid-Wajid, Anu Malik and Meet Bros has provided music for the film. Malik has recomposed two of the songs from Judwaa, those being “Oonchi Hai Building” and “Tan Tana Tan Tan Tan Tara”.

However, this week Judwaa 2 will face competition from Saif Ali Khan’s Chef & Hollywood’s Blade Runner: 2049.
