Laapata Ladies Screening In Supreme Court, Aamir Khan Attends The Special Screening

In a unique event, Bollywood star Aamir Khan is attending a special screening of the film Laapata Ladies at the Supreme Court today. The screening, which aims to raise awareness about gender equality, is part of the court’s celebrations for its seventy-fifth anniversary. The event will be held from 4:15 pm to 6:20 pm in the Auditorium of the C-block Administrative Building Complex.

Chief Justice DY Chandrachud humorously noted Aamir Khan’s presence, saying, “I don’t want a stampede in court. But Aamir Khan is here today.”

The film Laapata Ladies deals with gender equality and has been praised for its insightful look at social issues. The screening will include CJI Chandrachud, other Supreme Court judges, their families, and court officials. Aamir Khan and director Kiran Rao will be present to engage with the audience.

Laapata Ladies tells the story of two young brides who are accidentally swapped on a train to their new husbands’ homes. Directed by Kiran Rao, the film stars Sparsh Shrivastav, Pratibha Ranta, and Nitanshi Goel, and is produced by Jio Studios, Aamir Khan Productions, and Kindling Pictures.
