Munawar Faruqui, the winner of Lock Upp finally reacted to comedian Sunil Pal’s comment of calling him a ‘vulgar comedian’.

During the premiere of Kangana Ranaut’s reality show Lock Upp, Pal compared Faruqui to a terrorist. After being imprisoned for upsetting the sensibilities of a specific section of society, Faruqui has been subjected to similar slurs for months.

However, after winning the show, Munawar in an Instagram live interaction stated “I respect and enjoy comedy as much as you do. Please don’t accuse me of putting humour in jeopardy. You have the right to express yourself. Together, we can save comedy. Your approach is distinct from mine. You must have thought I was disrespectful when I got on stage, but I was not. I didn’t mean it, even if you think I did. Aukaat (value) nahi hai meri, aukaat bana lenge.”

Earlier, Sunil Pal, a former contestant on The Great Indian Laughter Challenge has also made similar comments on AIB co-founder Tanmay Bhat which eventually turned against him.
