According to media reports, Priyanka Chopra, who was last seen in Rakesh Jha’s Jai Gangajal, has been keeping busy with her Hollywood projects is said to make a comeback in Bollywood very soon. The Quantico star will be next seen in the biopic on American-Indian astronaut Kalpana Chawla who died on her way back from a space mission when her space shuttle exploded. Chawla spent 31 days, 14 hours and 54 minutes in space. It will be interesting to see Priyanka in another biopic after Mary Kom.

Priyanka Chopra, who is currently busy shooting in Rome for the third season of her popular ABC show Quantico, will soon start shooting for the Kalpana Chawla biopic. In fact the pre-production work of the film has already started. As the source added to the daily, “Priyanka met the makers and has asked them to start the pre-production work on the film. This will be the first film to go on floors right after Quantico if all goes well.”

In 2017, Chopra made her Hollywood live-action film debut by playing the antagonist Victoria Leeds in Seth Gordon’s action comedy Baywatch opposite Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron. She is also the founder of the production company Purple Pebble Pictures, which released the acclaimed Marathi comedy-drama Ventilator in 2016. She received the People’s Choice Award for ‘Favourite Actress in a New TV Series’ for her role in Quantico, becoming the first South Asian actress to win a People’s Choice Award.

In addition to her acting career, Chopra is noted for her philanthropic work. She has worked with UNICEF for the last ten years and was appointed as the national and global UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Child Rights in 2010 and 2016 respectively. She promotes various causes such as environment, health and education, and women’s rights and is particularly vocal about gender equality and feminism.
