The Bollywood box office that kind of freezed with all the latest failure of superstar movies like ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ and ‘Tubelight’ got a much awaited push with the release of Varun Dhawan’s ‘Judwaa 2’. The box office success of ‘Judwaa 2’ has broken the ice which seems to have elated the trade analysts too. This week sees the release of Saif Ali Khan’s ‘Chef’ that is expected to do good business in the coming days.
When asked about Saif Ali Khan ‘Chef’ chances of survival this week, trade analyst Girish Johar was quoted saying, “To some extent ‘Judwaa 2’ will remain a competition to ‘Chef’. It has done fantastic business and the mass has really loved the film. But ‘Chef’ as new release has an edge over ‘Judwaa 2’. If Chef’s content is good and people actually like it, then the film may collect as much as Rs 15 crore by the end of the weekend”, reports Indian Express.
Apart from Saif Ali Khan’s ‘Chef’, the other releases of this week are ‘Lego Ninja’, ‘Tu Hai Mera Sunday’ and ‘Victoria & Abdul’ which are not expected to stand in competition for the film. Girish was further quoted saying, ” ‘Chef’ will release in around 1500 to 2000 screens. It is expected to earn Rs 4 crores on Friday. There are many other releases like ‘Lego Ninja’, ‘Tu Hai Mera Sunday’ and ‘Victoria & Abdul’, but they won’t stand as a massive competition for the film.”
‘Chef’ starring Saif Ali Khan that has been released today has received mixed response from the audience.
