Former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede to appear before CBI tomorrow

Former NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede has been summoned again by the CBI in connection with actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan's drugs in cruise case.
The former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal director Sameer Wankhede has been summoned again by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan’s drugs in cruise case. The CBI on Tuesday asked him to appear before the agency on May 24.
Wankhede has been booked by the CBI for allegedly demanding Rs 25 crore for not framing Aryan in the case. Prior to this, Wankhede was questioned for the second consecutive day on Sunday. Wankhede said that he will continue to cooperate in the investigation.
The CBI said that the assets to Wankhede were not proportionate to his known source of income.
NCB sources had also alleged that Wankhede violated the conduct rules by producing conversations he had with SRK over his son’s arrest.
The NCB sources also informed that Wankhede did not provide the phone on which the chat took plce and allegedly tried to scare another senior NCB official when he took over the case.
Meanwhile, Wankhede appraoched the Bombay High Court against the CBI action against him.
For the uninitiated, Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was nabbed by the NCB from the Cordelia Cruise on October 2, 2021 for allegedly possessing banned substances. Along with him, two of his frnds Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Damecha and 17 other people were also nabbed by the NCB.
Following the extortions allegations, the case was transferred to a Special Investigation Team (SIT). Aryan, Arbaaz and Munmum were granted bail on October 28 and the superstar’s son received a clean chit in the case on May 27, 2022.
