Day 2: G20 tourism meeting in Srinagar, people laud development in J-K

The second day of the G20 Tourism Working Group (TWG) meeting in Srinagar began on Tuesday.
The meetings will take place from May 22-24 at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar. Kashmiris welcomed the G20 summit meetings, which aim to boost the tourism and business sectors. The delegates will most likely visit various famous places in Srinagar.

The delegates are expected to hold multiple sessions at SKICC during today’s meeting. During the day, the delegates will visit Nishat Garden, Cheshma Shahi, Pari Mahal, Kashmir Arts Emporium, and Polo View Market. A lavish dinner will also be held.

The mega G20 tourism meeting in Srinagar has clearly captured the attention of international media, with many highlighting India’s efforts to demonstrate the restoration of stability and normalcy in Kashmir.
Despite a boycott by China and Pakistan, the first day of the G20 tourism meeting began on Monday, according to Taiwan News.

India is currently holding meetings across the country in preparation for the G20 Summit, which will be held in New Delhi in September.

As the mega event began, G20 delegations arrived at Srinagar’s Sheikh-ul Alam International Airport. According to Nikkei Asia, they were greeted by rows of lampposts illuminated in the colours of the Indian national flag and billboards bearing the G20 logo.
