Maharashtra 15th Lok Sabha Elections 2009 Winners List: The 2009 Indian General Elections, which were held to constitute 15th Lok Sabha, saw the return of Indian National Congress (INC) after a very long time. Contesting over 48 seats The Indian National Congress and Nationalist Congress Party alliance won the Maharashtra Lok Sabha elections by getting majority 25 seats followed by Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP)- 9 and Shiv Sena 11. In comparison to 2004 Lok Sabha elections, BJP and Shiv Sena alliance won by majority seats followed by Congress- 10 and NCP 6.

The total electorate of 15th Lok Sabha elections were 75968312 among which 24528942
were men while 20669389 were women accounting for a voter turnout of 59.50 %. By the statistics INC and NCP together won 144 Assembly constituencies, forming a clear majority for the second time, and coming back to power in the state. The BJP-Shiv Sena alliance lost again, bagging 90 assembly seats overall.

The candidates that secured victory in the elections from Indian national congress and Nationalist Congress party alliance UPA are- Gavit Manikrao Hodlya from Nandurbar, Datta Meghe from Wardha, Mukul Balkrishna Wasnik from Ramtek, Vilasrao Baburaoji Muttemwar from Nagpur, Praful Manoharbhai Patel from Bhandara Gondiya, Marotrao Sainuji Kowase from Gadchiroli-Chimur, Bhaskarrao Bapurao Khatgaonkar Patil from Nanded, Sameer Bhujbal from Nashik, Suresh Kashinath Taware from Bhiwandi, Dr Sanjeev Ganesh Naik from Thane, Sanjay Brijkishorlal Nirupam from Mumbai North, Gurdas Kamat from Mumbai northwest, Sanjay Dina Patil from Mumbai north east, Priya Sunil Dutt Mumbai north central, Eknath Gaikwad from Mumbai south central, Suresh Kalmadi from Pune, Supriya Sule from Baramati, Padamsinha Bajirao Patil from Osamanabad, Awale Jaywant Gangaram form Latur, Sushil Kumar Govindrao Pawar from Madha, Pratik Prakashbapu Patil from Sangli, Udayanraje Bhonsle from Sara, and Nilesh Narayan Rane foromRatnagiri Sindhudurg.
