At her home in the Malatipur neighbourhood of Malda, Mousumi Das, district vice president of the Mahila Morcha Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), reportedly came under attack by “Trinamool Congress-backed” thugs.
She was then brought to a local hospital for treatment after that.
Pintu Mandal, Mousumi’s husband, claimed “She was asleep in her room at our home when two unknown people broke in and began stabbing and beating her. Goons sponsored by the Trinamool Congress are responsible for the assault “.
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) Malda spokesman, Shuvomoay Basu, denied the accusation. He stated: “We trust the results of the police inquiry. If there was an assault, they would learn what caused it.”
Leaders of the Bengal BJP have frequently lamented attacks on party members and suggested that the state’s law and order situation has gotten worse.
After the results of the state assembly election were announced on May 2, West Bengal was engulfed in violence, which resulted in many party workers dying and several others being hurt in fights.
