The Multiplex Authority of India (MAI) is offering movie tickets at a whopping price of Rs 75 on nearly about 4000 screens pan India. This offer is likely to draw tons of movie enthusiasts towards movie theatres.
National Cinema Day is assumed on 23rd September to celebrate the spirit of cinema in our country. National Cinema Day will the celebrate reopening of cinemas in the nation after the COVID-19 period.
In a statement, the MAI a record number of moviegoers are expected to participate and the response to the pre-sales has been unprecedented. 23rd September is set to become the highest-attended day of the year for cinema halls across the nation.
Directors, producers, and actors acknowledged National Cinema Day through their posts and tweets on social media. In a tweet, the “Kashmir Files” director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri invited fans to watch the newly released ‘Karthikeya 2’ at just Rs 75.
Actor Mouni Roy in a tweet said, “Celebrate #NationalCinemaDay with us”. Due to state restrictions surrounding theatres and ticket rates, theatres in various states, including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, would be unable to participate in National Cinema Day. Special offers will be provided at participating theatres across all states on National Cinema Day, including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.
National Cinema Day was scheduled to be celebrated on 16th September earlier, but due to several stakeholders’ requests, it was postponed till 23rd September to ensure maximum participation.
