Rahul Gandhi in a press conference in Delhi said the nation is under dictatorship, and democracy is dead.

Amid the National Herald case, under which allegedly party leader Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi are suspected of money laundering. Congress Party workers have begun gathering at the party office, ahead of their nationwide protest against high unemployment and inflation today.

Rahul Gandhi addressed a press conference today at the party headquarters in New Delhi at 9:30 am.

This comes two days after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) sealed the Young Indian Limited office located in the National Herald building on Wednesday.

Rahul Gandhi declared that the scrutiny into the Herald case is nothing but an intimidation tactic by the opposition. While addressing the press conference, Rahul Gandhi called out BJP’s rule as a dictatorship and how the democracy is under attack, as anyone who speaks against the central government is either viciously attacked, detained, or beaten up.

The party workers will stage a nationwide protest raising the issue of rising levels of unemployment and inflation rate. The Delhi Police issued an advisory stating the traffic movement has taken a hit on parts of Lutyens’ Delhi as the Congress workers have kicked off with their mass protest against GST hike, unemployment, and inflation.

The Delhi police have imposed section 144 in the New Delhi district except for Jantar Mantar. Security has been deployed at the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Road, near 7 LKM, as it was announced by the CWC members and senior leadership that they will participate in “PM House Gherao” (besiege the PM’s residents.)

Calling out the BJP rule as a dictatorship, Rahul Gandhi said, the sole idea is to suppress the min issues like price rise, unemployment, and violence in society. The sole objective of the central government is to protect the interest of 4-5 people and 2-3 big business people.

While staging a protest the female congress workers were seen cooking without gas and placards and hoardings of hiked GST, unemployment, and increase in prices. The Congress party leader wore a black piece of cloth around his arm, as a sign of protest. Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, also joined the press conference with the party leader Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi, also added that the “Finance minister has zero understanding of where the economy is going, and she’s nothing but a mouthpiece.”

He further added we are just mere spectators of the death of democracy, India was built brick by brick, and now it is collapsing in front of our eyes, as Hilter has won the elections and has come into power.

The protestors have been seen donning black kurtas and sarees as a sign of protest.
