On Wednesday morning, rain lashes areas of the Kakinada district in Andhra Pradesh due to storm Asani.
Cyclone Asani is expected to hit Kakinada on the Andhra coast on Wednesday morning, according to Odisha Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Jena.
Jena stated, “The cyclonic storm Asani is travelling from the West Central Bay of Bengal to the North Andhra shore, and it is expected to hit Kakinada on the Andhra coast tomorrow morning.”
In the aftermath of storm Asani, a senior Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) official stated on Tuesday that a heavy to very heavy rainfall warning has been issued for the coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh.
Light to moderate rainfall is expected in Telangana’s Nalgonda, Suryapet, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, and Mulugu districts.
Cyclone Asani has shifted its course and will now hit the shore of Kakinada, according to officials. It will return to sea between Kakinada and Visakhapatnam after touching the Kakinada shore.
Dr Nagaratna, the Head of the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre, informed “Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall warnings have been issued for Andhra Pradesh’s coastal districts. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in Telangana’s Nalgonda, Suryapet, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, and Mulugu districts.”
Light to moderate rainfall are expected in Telangana’s southern districts. The officials predicted that light rainfall would fall in Hyderabad over the next 24 hours, with cloudy conditions persisting for the next 48 hours.
