Another Nigerian man residing in the national capital has tested positive for Monkeypox, bringing the total number of cases in Delhi to three, according to government sources on Tuesday.

A 35-year-old Nigerian guy residing in Delhi who had no recent international travel history tested positive for monkeypox on Monday. Earlier today, another case of monkeypox was recorded in Kerala.

The first Monkeypox mortality in the country was recorded on July 30. A 22-year-old guy who tested positive for monkeypox in the UAE arrived in India on July 22 and was brought to a hospital on July 27 after testing positive for the virus again.

In the aftermath of Monkeypox instances in India, the Centre organised a task group to monitor and advise the government on the extension of diagnostic facilities and the investigation of immunisation for the virus in the country.

Cabinet Secretary, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, Additional Secretary (PMO), and other key officials attended the meeting.
