IMD Issues Heavy Rainfall Alerts in Various States This Week

IMD has issued massive rainfall alert in many states in this week. some central and eastern states are likely to receive heavy rainfall in next 5 days

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted massive rainfall in various states this coming week. IMD also noted in its statement another active phase of the South-West monsoon is expected to begin this week.

The low-pressure area created over northern Odisha and other adjoining Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand brings heavy and widespread rainfall over Central and Eastern India in the next five days said the r body. Rainfall will continue over other parts of northwest India including Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, for at least two more days, IMD said.

Although massive rainfall has created fury in some northern states some central and adjoining states are reeling with low or no rainfall. As the low-pressure area has formed and another cyclonic circulation will develop around these areas on Tuesday, rainfall will now increase over Central and East India, Including Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha region, and Some south Indian states as well. This week we can witness active rainfall in these regions.

IMD has also issued an Orange alert for Maharashtra, as heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted over the Konkan, Goa, and Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra in the coming days.

Sates like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and National Capital are already battered with heavy rainfall. Torrential rain has created a flood-like situation in Delhi and Himachal Pradesh. Various bridges have been collapsed and many houses, vehicles, hotels etc. swept away in the flood. Many people lost their lives amid landslides and heavy rainfall due to heavy Monsoon like situations.
