Pakistan initiates firing and heavy shelling in the Degwar sector along the Line of Control in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, violating the ceasefire agreement. The Indian Army is responding with effective retaliation.
Blackout in border areas of Jammu, Samba, Kathua has reported. Pakistan has been firing in border areas for many days. Explosions were heard in Nagrota and Samba areas of Jammu amid ongoing tensions along the border.

Following the blackout Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah tweeted:
“It’s my earnest appeal to everyone in & around Jammu please stay off the streets, stay at home or at the nearest place you can comfortably stay at for the next few hours. Ignore rumours, don’t spread unsubstantiated or unverified stories & we will get through this together”.
Red streaks could be seen and explosions were heard in Samba sector of Jammu as India’s air defence intercepted Pakistani drones amid blackout. Meanwhile a precautionary blackout has been enforfced in the multiple areas amid the esclating tensions between India and Pakistan.
Complete blackout has been enforced, Akhnoor and Udhampur region of Jammu and Kashmir; Ambala and Panchkula area of Haryana.
The blackout are also enforced in Firozpur of Punjab and Jaisalmer of Rajasthan.
Pakistan has violated the ceasfire for yet another day. On Thursday Pakistani army carried out multiple airspace violations and drone intrusions on the night of May 7 and 8, targeting Indian military infrastructure.
