The producer of the documentary film ‘Kaali’ appeared in Delhi court through her attorney today. The court summoned producer Leena Manimekalai and her production company.
A lawsuit sought an injunction to prevent the defendants from depicting the goddess Kaali in the manner depicted in a poster and video. The attorneys for Leena Manimekalai and her production company appeared in court. The counsel claimed that she had not received a copy of the suit.
Tees Hazari Court Civil Judge Abhishek Kumar ordered the plaintiff to provide her with a copy of the action.
The case has been scheduled for a hearing on February 7, 2023. Raj Gaurav, the plaintiff’s lawyer, attempted to serve the defendants by email and Whatsapp.
Based on the submissions, the court issued summons via various forms of service, including email and Whatsapp.
The court had already summoned Canadian filmmaker Leena Manimekalai and others.
Previously, the relevant civil judge said that temporary injunctive relief is discretionary.
