Delhi CM Kejriwal will meet NCP supremo Sharad Pawar in an effort to rally oppn parties against the Centre's ordinance on control of administrative services in the national capital.
On Thursday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will meet NCP supremo Sharad Pawar in an effort to rally opposition parties against the Centre’s ordinance on control of administrative services in the national capital.
The meeting is scheduled for 3 p.m. today. Chief Minister Kejriwal will be accompanied by his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann, AAP MPs Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha, and Delhi Minister Atishi during his visit.
On Wednesday, the Delhi CM also met with Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray.
The Delhi Chief Minister embarked on a nationwide tour on Tuesday to rally opposition parties against the central government’s ordinance on bureaucrat transfers and postings in the national capital.
The national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused the Centre of “taking away the rights” of the people of Delhi and stated that the ordinance “should not” be allowed to pass in Rajya Sabha.
This comes after the Union Government issued an ordinance on May 19 to notify rules for the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) regarding ‘transfer posting, vigilance, and other incidental matters’.
The ordinance amends the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1991, and thus avoids the Supreme Court’s decision in the Centre vs Delhi case.
Earlier, on Tuesday, CM Kejriwal met with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata to seek her support against the ordinance.
