SIT constituted to probe Kerala human sacrifice case

Anil Kant, head of the Kerala Police, has ordered the creation of a special investigative team to look into the crimes related to the barbaric human sacrifice case that involved the murder of two women.

S Sasidharan, the deputy commissioner of police for Kochi City, will lead the SIT that would look into the matter. The lead investigator will be Perumbavoor ASP Anuj Paliwal.

The investigating officers are Kadavantra Station House Officer Baiju Jose, Kaladi Station House Officer Anup NA, Ernakulam Central Assistant Commissioner C Jayakumar, and members of the special investigation team are Elamakara Police Station Sub Inspector Aine Babu and Kaladi Police Station Sub Inspector Bipin TB.

According to insiders, the investigating team would be directly supervised by the ADGP law and order section.

A startling disclosure regarding the police’s remand report in the “human sacrifice” case was made earlier on Wednesday.

The suspects in the “human sacrifice” case allegedly sliced one of the victim ladies into 56 pieces. The remand report further disclosed that the accused Muhammad Shafi and the accused Laila stabbed the victims in the vagina.

According to the remand report, “The two accused, Bhagaval Singh and Laila, planned for the crime with the support of chief accused Muhammed Shafi in order to obtain economic success.”
