NEW DELHI: The advertisement industry in India has certainly explained the phrase ‘Bold and Beautiful’ in the best way possible. This commercia showing a lesbian couple for the first time in India is making waves on the digital space. 

Titled ‘The Visit’, the video narrates a story of a lesbian couple in a live-in relationship dressing up to meet the parents of one of the girls. They talk; they flirt, expose chemistry and share expectations for the day.

The creative team has definitely worked hard on the concept of this advertisement for a fashion portal’s ethnic wear collection and yes, it has paid them well. The video has already received more than 3 million hits on YouTube within a short span.

Breaking away with the traditional way of advertising, this fresh concept is sure to change the way mainstream commercials talk about homosexuality.

“We tried to avoid the stereotypes associated with gay people. There was no one woman looking more masculine or feminine in the film. We tried to give it a candid feel like it is any other couple being apprehensive about meeting the parents,” says Avishek Ghosh, co-partner of Hectic Content in an interview with a leading daily.
