India Pakistan News LIVE Updates: India Retaliates After Pakistan Targets 26 Locations; Firing Ongoing Along LoC

🕒 Updated: May 10, 2025 | 06:11 AM IST

Indian authorities have accused Pakistan of launching drone and missile attacks on military installations across India and Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir — a claim that Pakistan has denied.

In a major security development, India’s Air Defence forces successfully neutralized multiple Pakistani drones over Amritsar, Punjab

According to a senior Indian defence official, eight missiles were launched from Pakistani territory targeting areas in Jammu and Kashmir, specifically Satwari, Samba, Ranbir Singh Pura, and Arnia. All incoming threats were successfully intercepted by Indian Air Defence systems, the official said.

The Ministry of Defence further confirmed that military sites in Punjab’s Pathankot were also among the intended targets. The ministry stated that all attacks were neutralised in line with operational protocols and that no casualties or significant damage had been reported. The targeted locations were said to be near the international border.

Additional strikes were reported in parts of Rajasthan, which were swiftly countered by Indian military units, according to Jammu-based Army spokesperson Sunil Bartwal. In response to the threat, authorities have enforced blackouts in several regions of Punjab, Kashmir, and Rajasthan to ensure public safety and operational security.

Jammu city plunged into complete darkness late Thursday night following a sudden drone-based attack launched by Pakistan. The strike, which targeted strategic zones including Jammu Airport, Pathankot, Akhnoor, and Samba, triggered a swift response from India’s air defence systems.
