Modi Rameswaram visit LIVE: Prime Minister Narendra Modi In Rameswaram To Inaugurate The Pamban Bridge
On the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate India’s first-ever vertical lift sea bridge in Tamil Nadu’s Rameswaram. The new Pamban Bridge, constructed at a cost of Rs 550 crore, will significantly improve connectivity between Rameswaram and the Indian mainland.
The bridge features a 72.5-meter vertical lift span, allowing large ships to pass underneath without disrupting train services. This innovative design marks a key advancement in India’s infrastructure and engineering capabilities. The Pamban Bridge is poised to transform regional travel, boosting both tourism and trade.
A Deep Spiritual Connection
The Pamban Bridge also holds profound spiritual and mythological significance. According to the Ramayana, the construction of the Ram Setu, a bridge linking India to Sri Lanka, began from Dhanushkodi, near Rameswaram. The new bridge not only enhances modern-day connectivity but also honors this sacred link from India’s past.
This milestone reflects both India’s commitment to progress and its respect for cultural heritage, making it a significant achievement on Ram Navami.
