BJP ministers from JD(U) expected to be sworn in are Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Shravan Kumar, Vijendra Yadav, Ashok Chaudhary, Leshi Singh, Jama Khan and Madan Sahni.

The Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has arrived at Patna to attend the NDA government’s swearing-in ceremony to be held in Bihar at Gandhi Maidan 

The Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has come to Patna to attend the NDA government’s swearing-in ceremony to be held at Gandhi Maidan. The local BJP workers and office bearers welcomed him upon his arrival.

Nitish Kumar will take oath as CM of Bihar for the 10th time today. The ceremony will take place at Gandhi Maidan in Patna at 11:30 am.

State Minister of Home Affairs Nityanand Rai noted, today was a moment of pride for Bihar’s state. “In this democratic festival, the people of Bihar created history in giving NDA a historic victory. The developed pride is visible in the ceremony held at Gandhi ground.”

1. Nitish Kumar was administered the oath of Chief Minister for the tenth time on the occasion of the swearing-in ceremony, which was held on Thursday evening at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan. 
2. High-profile attendance –The swearing-in ceremony will be attended by major national leaders including Prime Minister Modi, Amit Shah, and JP Nadda, as well as several Union ministers and chief ministers from at least seven states. 
3. 18 ministers likely to be sworn in – According to reports, 18 ministers, including two deputy chief ministers (Samrat Choudhury and Vijay Kumar Sinha) will likely be sworn in. The discussion on the ministerial portfolios and the Speaker’s post was also held before finalising the list of cabinet members.
4. NDA’s remarkable victory in the elections – The NDA was successful by obtaining a clear majority in the 2025 Bihar elections, winning 202 of the total 243 seats. The BJP was overjoyed to emerge as the single-largest party in the state.
5.  New government formation – Nitish Kumar resigned and staked the claim to form the new government with the support of all NDA partners on Wednesday, after he was elected first as leader of the JD(U) and then of the NDA in Bihar.

Preparations in full swing at Gandhi Maidan will Nitish Kumar take oath as Chief Minister for the 10th time. People have started to arrive for the ceremony.  PM Modi, Amit Shah, and other top NDA leaders are expected to attend the ceremony. In addition to the main stage, additional pandals have been erected to accommodate VVIPs.

Posters of Nitish Kumar, PM Modi, Amit Shah, Chirag Paswan and many other NDA leaders were put up outside Gandhi Maidan, Patna where the NDA swearing-in ceremony is to take place today. 

The ceremony will include Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president J P Nadda and other NDA leaders. Chief ministers from several NDA ruled states will also attend.

Mr. Shah and Mr. Nadda have already come to the State capital.

Nitish Kumar resigned as the Bihar CM on Wednesday and later staked claim before Governor Arif Mohammed Khan to form a new government.

Apart from the Cabinet berths for its main NDA constituents, BJP and the JD(U), it is likely that other partners in the NDA alliance will also be given one ministerial post for every six MLAs to make it a fair representation.

One ministerial berth will go each to the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) and the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) or HAM(S), three for Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and the rest will be shared between the BJP and the JD(U).

According to sources, eight MLAs each from BJP and JD (U) will take oath today….and one each from the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) or HAM(S), and Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will also take oath today.

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang arrived in Patna ahead of Nitish Kumar’s oath-taking ceremony for Bihar Chief Minister.

While attending the oath-taking ceremony of Bihar CM, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said, “My heartfelt congratulations to the people of Bihar on the formation of this new government. I am confident that in the future, Bihar will become the growth engine of Viksit Bharat…”

Chhattisgarh Deputy CM Vijay Sharma stated, “We have seen the love people have for Nitish Kumar. He is going to become the Chief Minister for the 10th time. We are also going to Patna for the bittersweet occasion of his swearing ceremony.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Gandhi Maidan from the airport by helicopter to attend the swearing in ceremony of JDU chief Nitish Kumar as Bihar chief minister for a record 10th time. The swearing-in ceremony is being organized at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna and preparations are at the final stage.

In Bihar, political activities have ramped up amid political activities taking place in the state with reports that a number of state ministers have also begun receiving calls related to government formation. For example, BJP leaders Ramkripal Yadav and Sanjay Tiger have received such calls.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and IT Minister Nara Lokesh are set to be present at the oath-taking ceremony of Nitish Kumar as Bihar’s Chief Minister.

A press statement confirmed, “CM Chandrababu and Minister Nara Lokesh will attend the swearing-in ceremony of Nitish Kumar as Bihar CM,” noting that both leaders had been formally invited to the event.

Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, acknowledged that choosing not to contest the Bihar Assembly elections might have been a “mistake.” He added that he had not anticipated his party securing less than 4% of the vote share.

This statement follows the Jan Suraaj Party’s poor performance in the recent elections, where the party failed to win any seats.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, ahead of the swearing-in of Bihar’s new NDA government led by Nitish Kumar, stated that voters endorsed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s welfare initiatives and the “good governance” of Nitish Kumar.

Pathak reached Patna on Wednesday to participate in the oath-taking ceremony of Nitish Kumar, scheduled for today at the historic Gandhi Maidan.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda reached Patna on Wednesday night ahead of JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar’s historic 10th swearing-in as Bihar Chief Minister.

They were welcomed at the city airport by state BJP chief Dilip Jaiswal, along with senior party figures Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha.

According to reports, Mr. Shah and Mr. Nadda are scheduled to hold meetings with senior leaders of both JD(U) and BJP ahead of the oath-taking ceremony.

Public Access: Entry to Gandhi Maidan will be completely restricted from 17th to 20th November.

Road Closures: Key roads surrounding Gandhi Maidan will remain closed between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM on Thursday.

Vehicle Restrictions: Private vehicles will not be permitted near designated areas around Gandhi Maidan during the closure period.

Parking Arrangements: Public parking at Gandhi Maidan will be unavailable. Authorized parking is organized at alternate locations, including under the Ashoka Rajpath bridge and Bans Ghat Road.

VIP / Guest Entry: Specific gates have been assigned for high-profile guests: Gate 1 for chief dignitaries such as the Prime Minister and senior leaders, and Gate 4 for other VIPs.

Emergency Route: A dedicated emergency corridor will remain operational from JP Golambar to Children’s Park.

Guest Parking: Designated parking zones have been arranged nearby for invited guests and officials.

The swearing-in event is slated to commence at 11:30 am on Thursday, November 20. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to reach Gandhi Maidan in Patna by 12:30 pm, with Nitish Kumar taking the oath as Chief Minister shortly after, at 12:45 pm.
