Spencer Johnson, Chetan Sakariya, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, and Luvnith Sisodia are being released by KKR.  They don’t have any wicketkeepers on their roster, therefore if you had to guess, Josh Inglis will get paid a lot to play for the Knight Riders the next season.

The Kolkata Knight Riders have some huge news.  According to reports, the team has decided to let Andre Russell go!  He was hired for Rs 12 crore and has contributed significantly to the franchise’s success throughout the years.

After being transferred to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ahead of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, Indian wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson posted an emotional statement on social media thanking Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Andre Russell, one of the most dangerous batters in his prime, is no longer with a team he played for for ten years due to ageing! he is on the table for other teams for the first time in a number of years, but he will be in the auction, where KKR may try to buy him at a discount.

Nitish Rana, a left-handed batter, was dealt by the Rajasthan Royals to the Delhi Capitals prior to the IPL 2026 mini-auction.

 Donovan Ferreira, a South African all-rounder, returned to his first IPL team after DC moved him to RR.  Ferreira’s fee has been changed from Rs 75 lakh to Rs 1 crore, while Rana joins DC at his current fee of Rs 4.2 crore.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is believed to be looking to move on from the allrounder they bought for Rs 23.75 crore at last year‘s mega auction.

According to a recent update, Kolkata Knight Riders will let go of Quinton de Kock, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Luvnith Sisodia, all three of their keeper-batters.

Ravindra Jadeja won his first IPL Championship with the Rajasthan Royals.

“Rajasthan Royals gave me my first platform and the first taste of victory,” Jadeja said in a statement. “Coming back feels special – it is not just a team for me, it is home. Rajasthan Royals is where I won my first IPL, and I am hopeful I will win more with this group of players.”

The Punjab Kings are going to keep their overseas core, according to ESPNcricinfo. Among the overseas players are Marcus Stoinis, Lockie Ferguson, Marco Jansen, Josh Inglis, Azmatullah Omarzai, Xavier Bartlett, and Mitchell Owen. However, the likes of Glenn Maxwell, Aaron Hardie, and Kyle Jamieson are moving on.

As per the latest report from Cribuzz, the Delhi Capitals are expected to release the likes of Faf du Plessis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, and Mohit Sharma, while T. Natarajan is being retained. Du Plessis, who had joined last year for INR 2 crore, scored 202 runs in 9 matches during the season.

There are reports that KKR is expected to release at least seven players before the auction, including Venkatesh Iyer, who was bought for Rs 23.75 crores last year during the mega sales. That may lead to KKR opening the purse strings to as much as Rs 38.65 crores.

Currently, it appears KKR is likely going to part ways with the following players:

Reports that Delhi Capitals (DC) would retain KL Rahul, meaning that his possible transfer to KKR is apparently dead.  KL Rahul, the former captain of Punjab Kings (PBKS), moved to DC for a sum of Rs 14 crores during the IPL 2025 mega sales.

Franchises must submit their final retention list well in advance of the auction deadline, with reports nailed down 15 November 2025 as the cutoff. Not meeting this deadline can restrict teams’ scope for retaining key players ahead of the auction. 

In a recent development, Chennai Super Kings are expected to part ways with their Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana, while hoping to buy him back at the mini auction in a month from now. CSK bought him last year for Rs 13 crore at the mega auction.

As per the reports, the Delhi Capitals are expected to release Faf du Plessis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Harry Brook, and Mohit Sharma ahead of the auctions before the next IPL season. Faf, a three-time IPL champion, joined DC through the mega auction last season after being released by RCB.

“Considering that as a franchise we never took that path for trading except once when we brought in Robin Uthappa, the management of the team needed a top-order Indian batter. Since not many Indian batters will be available at the auction, we thought the best way to get a top-order batter was through the trade window.”

Bowling all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar is moving to Lucknow Super Giants from the Mumbai Indians for his existing price of INR 30 lakh. Thendulkar made his IPL debut for the Mumbai Indians in 2023 after being drafted in 2021.

Bowling allrounder Arjun Tendulkar will play for the Lucknow Super Giants, pending a successful trade from the Mumbai Indians. He will be transferring at his current fee of INR 30 lakh.

The first time he was picked by MI was at the 2021 IPL Auction. The first time he played for MI in the IPL was in 2023, while MI won the IPL 5 times.

Allrounder Donovan Ferreira is back with the Rajasthan Royals. He has been traded from the Delhi Capitals. He was with DC for ₹ 75 lakh, but now, with the trade with RR, his fee has been updated to ₹1 crore.

Left-handed batsman Nitish Rana is set to play for the Delhi Capitals after being traded from the Rajasthan Royals. He will retain his fee of INR 4.2 crore that he received from the Royals.

Rana has played more than 100 matches and captained the Kolkata Knight Riders when Shreyas Iyer was injured in 2023.

After a successful trade to Lucknow Super Giants from Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mohammed Shami will play for LSG. Shami was the second-most costly signing of SRH ahead of the IPL 2025 season for INR 10 crore, and he will make his way to LSG at his current price.

The senior pacer has loads of experience after playing 119 IPL matches across five franchises, after making his debut in 2013. Shami was an important part of the Gujarat Titans’ setup before he was traded to SRH. He won the Purple Cap in 2023 with 28 wickets in 17 matches. Shami missed the 2024 season through injury, but had just as big an impact in the 2023 season with 20 wickets on the way to the GT title victory.
