UAE vs Oman Asia Cup 2025 Match 7 Highlights: United Arab Emirates won their Group A meeting with Oman in Asia Cup by a vital margin of 42 runs in Abu Dhabi to keep their Super Four hopes alive. UAE made 172/5 in 20 overs with half-centuries by captain Muhammad Waseem (69) and Alishan Sharafu (51) before Junaid Siddique picked up four wickets to bowl out Oman by 130. The outcome will ensure that India has secured a place in the Super Four and will ensure that it is a winner-takes-all battle between Pakistan and UAE in order to secure the last qualification.
Muhammad Waseem was reminiscing about the victory and remarked, “The past is the past and we wanted to show this caliber to everyone with the way we can play. Very happy with today, we prepared ourselves for three days and executed well as a batting and bowling unit. We wanted to attack in the powerplay and then bat deep.” He also invited the 3,000 career runs as a great moment of his life, his family, and the country.
Jatinder Singh of Oman admitted that UAE had better execution, but said, “Credit goes to the UAE batters, they had their plans and executed well. We started on target but lost too many wickets in crunch situations. The team is picking up but we lack a bit of experience.” Reflecting on his dismissal, he said, “The track was placid and the ball was coming on nicely. I played as per plans, but it was a slower one and I was a bit too early on the shot.”
