PAK vs BAN 2nd ODI Highlights: Pakistan: 274, Bangladesh 114 | The Visitors Win By 128 Runs

Haris Rauf cleaned up the tail to finish the job as the visitors registered a strong 128-run win over the Bangla Tigers. Maaz Sadaqat was named the player of the match for his all-round performance. The left-handed batter top-scored for Pakistan with 75 runs in only 46 balls. Playing only his second game in the format, the left-arm spinner picked up three crucial wickets of Litton Das, Afif Hossain, and Rishad Hossain. 

Haris Rauf, after an expensive start to the innings, has picked up two wickets to improve his bowling figures. The right-arm pacer dismissed Mustafizur Rahman in the 22nd over. Rahman swung his bat hoping to connect but he only managed to sky the ball and the catch was puched by Mohammad Rizwan. 

It is raining wickets as Haris Rauf joins the party as well to pick up his first wicket of the match. The Pakistani speedster dismissed Towhid Hridoy, who took a review with himself as well. Bangladesh are starting down a heavy defeat in the second ODI. 

This could all be over pretty soon as Bangladesh lost their seventh wicket in the second innings. Maaz Sadaqat is having a night to remember. After top-scoring with the bat in hand in the first innings, he has picked up three wickets, and could very well pick up a five-wicket haul as well. 

Faheem Ashraf got his first wicket as Mehidy Hasan Miraz was dismissed after scoring a single run in five balls. It was a short delivery from the Pakistani bowler, which Miraz was trying to pull from the backfoot. However, he skied the ball and handed Mohammad Wasim Jr. a fairly easy catch. 

The required run rate going up has finally caught up with Bangladesh, as they seem to be capitulating. Trying to take the positive route, Afif Hossain decided to take on Maaz Sadaqat with a slog sweep in the 17th over. However, a brilliant low catch from Salman Ali Agha brought about his dismissal as Bangladesh lost half of their side. 

Bangladesh needs to up the ante, or they could soon find themselves out of this clash. Faheem Ashraf, in spite of being wicketless, has bowled a great spell so far. In his two overs, the bowling all-rounder has conceded only nine runs as the required run rate continues to climb for the hosts. 

Maaz Sadaqat has redeemed himself with the wicket of Litton Das. The left-arm spinner had dropped Litton a few overs before. Bowling his second over, Sadaqat was hit for a six, but on the very next delivery, he trapped the right-handed batter in front of the stumps. It was originally not given out on the field, but a successful review from Pakistan overturned the decision.

Maaz Sadqat and Faheem Ashraf have brought a sense of calm back into this innings for Pakistan. Sadaqat gave away only a couple of runs in the 11th over, before Ashraf gave five runs in the 12th over. Courtesy of those two quiet overs the required rate has shot up to 8.8 for Bangladesh. 

Litton Das has been dropped by Pakistan’s star from the first innings, Maaz Sadaqat. The Banfladeshi wicketkeeper pulled this short ball from Haris Rauf to deep backward square-leg. Sadaqat, while running to his right, could not hold on to the ball, and to make things worse for Pakistan, it ended up being a six. Litton ended the 10th over with another boundary as the Banlga Tigers continue to make a comeback. 

Shaheen Afridi has given himself an elongated spell here. The Pakistani skipper is bowling his fifth over in the innings from the maximum quota of seven overs as per the revised playing conditions. Bangladesh seem to be making a comeback in the clash, having struck three boundaries in the last two overs. With only two overs remaining from Shaheen in this clash, this partnership could change things for the hosts.  They would want to continue to hit a boundary in every over, with the required run rate being more than 8.5 runs per over. 

The players are back on the field after a long rain delay. Shaheen Afridi resumed his fourth over. It was the last over of the power play as per the revised playing conditions. He conceded only a single in his remaining three balls as Pakistan continues to dominate this clash.

Bangladesh set a revised target of 243 runs in their second innings of 32 overs. The hosts would need to score 216 runs more in 25.3 overs to take an unassailable lead in the three-match ODI series. 

Good news for cricket fans as the rain has now stopped at Shere Bangla National Stadium. The game could start in the next 30 minutes if there is no other spell of rain around the corner. The second innings has now been reduced to 32 overs. Bangladesh’s target is yet to be announced.

The ground staff at the Shere Bangla National Stadium is talking to the on-field umpires. While what is being discussed has not been revealed, the visuals suggest that play might not be resuming anytime soon. 

The umpires went on to talk to Mike Hesson and Shaheen Afridi from the Pakistani camp. The floodlgihts too had been momentarily switched off before one of them was switched on again. 

Rain has slowed down, but with the whole ground not being covered, it could take some time to get the ground ready even after the rain comes to a complete stop. 

Overs are being lost at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. With rain persisting and lightning still being around, this could turn out to be a lengthy delay.

Originally, after the play was halted due to thunder and lightning, it has now been stopped due to rain. However, the covers were already in place, and not much damage would have been done to the pitch and inner circle. Meanwhile, it could be a lenghty delay if rain persists to fall.

Bangladesh got some momentum going finally after being rocked back by the three wickets. Litton Das holds the key for the hosts, having struck a couple of boundaries against Wasim Jr in the sixth over. Will the wicketkeeper batter bail out his side from a tricky situation? 

The Pakistani skipper is getting all the help from the pitch to make him unplayable. Shaheen Afridi struck again in his third over to pick up his second wicket of the match. The left-arm pacer bowled a length delivery which kept a bit low and knocked over the stumps to send Najmul Hossain Shanto back to the pavillion for a second-ball duck. 

The crowd in Dhaka has been silenced as Pakistan strike twice in the space of two balls. After Shaheen’s wicket off the final ball of the third over, Mohammad Wasim Jr dismissed Saif Hassan on the very next delivery to push the hosts on the back foot. The visitors have taken the early momentum in the innings and would not want to let this advantage slip away.

Shaheen Afridi has struck for his side as he broke the opening stand in his second over. The left-arm pacer dismissed Tanzid Hasan on the final ball of the third over. 

Meanwhile, Saif Hassan has taken over the mantle of scoring in the power play for the hosts. The right-handed batter was struck on his gloves in the second over, but has since struck a couple of fours.

Shaheen Afridi starts with a quiet over in the second innings. The Pakistani skipper found unvariable bounce on the pitch with the new ball as he gave away only a single run in the first over. He would need some support from the other end if Pakistan goes on to win this clash. 

Rishad Hossain finished with a three-wicket haul as Pakistan was bowled out for 274 runs. The Bangladeshi leg-spinner picked up the final wicket of the innings, setting up an exciting chase in the second innings. The Bangla Tigers need 275 runs to take an unassailable lead in the three-match ODI series. 

Pakistan continues to lose the plot as the ninth wicket falls for the visitors. Mustafizur Rahmand dismissed bowling all-rounder, Faheem Ashraf in the 47th over, as Pakistan struggled to finish on a positive note after a rollicking start from the top-order batters. Bangladesh need one wicket to bowl out their opponent for the second time in a row. 

Bangladesh are looking to end the first innings on a high, taking the momentum with them in the second innings. They have been pretty economical with their bowling after dismissing Hussain Talat and Abdul Samad in the 43rd over. Since their dismissals, only eight runs have been scored in the next 15 balls. The Bangla Tigers would be looking to restrict Pakistan to a score of less than 290.

The 43rd over from Rishad Hossain brought the hosts, Bangladesh, back into the game. The leg-spinner dismissed Hussain Talat. A couple of balls later, Abdul Samad was run out as Pakistan continued to lose their grip on the game. Faheem Ashraf and Shaheen Afridi are the two new batters at the crease as the visitors look for a fiery end to their innings. 

Pakistan pushed ahead in the death overs, moving from 235/5 after 40 overs to 245/5 after 41 overs. In the 40th over, Nahid Rana conceded four runs as Hussain Talat and Abdul Samad rotated the strike, taking Pakistan to 235/5. The 41st over from Rishad Hossain produced ten runs. Talat picked up a boundary with a reverse sweep, while both batters added singles and a couple through leg byes to take Pakistan to 245/5 at the end of the over.

Pakistan continued to build a strong partnership, moving from 193/3 after 33 overs to 215/3 after 37 overs. In the 34th over, Mustafizur Rahman conceded nine runs, including a boundary from Salman Agha, as Pakistan crossed the 200-run mark to reach 202/3. The 35th over from Mehidy Hasan Miraz was tight, giving away just three runs and keeping the score at 205/3. In the 36th over, Taskin Ahmed went for six runs, where Salman Agha brought up a well-made half-century, helping Pakistan reach 211/3. The 37th over from Miraz added four more runs as Agha and Mohammad Rizwan continued rotating the strike, taking Pakistan to 215/3.

Pakistan picked up the scoring rate to reach 193/3 after 33 overs. In the over from Rishad Hossain, Pakistan collected 11 runs, with Salman Agha taking the attack to the spinner by smashing two consecutive boundaries through the off-side and over mid-on. Mohammad Rizwan also rotated the strike with singles as the partnership continued to grow, pushing Pakistan from 182/3 to 193/3.

Pakistan continued to rotate the strike and build their partnership, progressing from 177/3 after 31 overs to 182/3 after 32 overs. In the 31st over, Mehidy Hasan Miraz conceded eight runs as Salman Agha struck a boundary and the pair completed a 50-run partnership, taking Pakistan to 177/3. In the 32nd over, Mustafizur Rahman kept things relatively tight, giving away five runs with Mohammad Rizwan collecting a couple through the covers. Pakistan moved to 182/3 at the end of the over.

Pakistan continued to rebuild through the middle overs, moving from 155/3 after 27 overs to 169/3 after 30 overs. In the 28th over, Afif Hossain conceded eight runs, with Mohammad Rizwan finishing the over with a boundary to take Pakistan to 163/3. The 29th over from Mehidy Hasan Miraz was a maiden, keeping both Rizwan and Salman Agha quiet as the score remained 163/3. In the 30th over, Rishad Hossain gave away six runs, including a sweep boundary by Rizwan, as Pakistan progressed to 169/3 at the end of the over.

Tawhid Hridoy removes Sahibzada Farhan! 

Pakistan continued to build steadily, moving from 149/3 after 26 overs to 155/3 after 27 overs. In the 26th over, Nahid Rana kept things tight, conceding just two runs as Mohammad Rizwan managed a couple through mid-on while the rest were dot balls. Pakistan reached 149/3 at the end of the over. In the 27th over, Rishad Hossain was taken for six runs. Salman Agha found the boundary with a glance to fine leg and later added a couple with a pull to deep mid-wicket, taking Pakistan to 155/3.

Pakistan slowly rebuilt through the middle overs, moving from 131/3 after 22 overs to 147/3 after 25 overs against the Bangladesh national cricket team. In the 22nd over, Nahid Rana kept things tight despite conceding a boundary to Mohammad Rizwan as Pakistan reached 131/3. The next over from Rishad Hossain was extremely economical, giving away just a single run to make it 132/3 after 23 overs. Pakistan added seven runs in the 24th over against Rana, with Salman Agha finding a boundary to push the score to 139/3. In the 25th over, Agha capped things with a six off Rishad as Pakistan collected eight runs to reach 147/3, with Rizwan and Agha gradually building a partnership.

Pakistan reached 121/2 after 18 overs against the Bangladesh national cricket team but lost a key wicket in the process. Taskin Ahmed struck in the over as Sahibzada Farhan departed for 31 off 46 balls, mistiming a pull that was safely caught by Towhid Hridoy at third man. Pakistan added three runs in the over, with Shamyl Hussain and Mohammad Rizwan at the crease as the score moved from 118/1 to 121/2.

Pakistan moved to 118/1 after 17 overs against the Bangladesh national cricket team as the scoring slowed further in the middle overs. Mehidy Hasan Miraz delivered a tight over, conceding just two runs. Sahibzada Farhan picked up a single early in the over, while Shamyl Hussain managed another single off the final ball as Pakistan progressed from 116/1 to 118/1.

Pakistan continue to rotate the strike in the middle overs, reaching 116/1 after 16 overs against the Bangladesh. In the over from Taskin Ahmed, Pakistan collected five runs, including a wide. Shamyl Hussain picked up a single, while Sahibzada Farhan added three runs with a couple and a single. Pakistan moved from 111/1 to 116/1 by the end of the 16th over.

The Pakistan national cricket team moved to 107/1 after 14 overs and 111/1 after 15 overs against the Bangladesh national cricket team as the scoring slowed in the middle phase. In the 14th over, Taskin Ahmed kept things tight, conceding just four runs including a wide, while Sahibzada Farhan and Shamyl Hussain rotated the strike. Pakistan reached 107/1 after 14 overs. Mehidy Hasan Miraz followed with another controlled over, giving away only four runs. Farhan picked up a couple through backward point late in the over as Pakistan progressed to 111/1 after 15 overs.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz broke the opening stand, dismissing Maaz Sadaqat. The left-handed batter scored 75 runs in 46 balls. The Bangladeshi skipper had Sadaqat caught behind. 

Pakistan ended the power play on a dominating note, having scored 85 runs in the first 10 overs. Maaz Sadaqat has continued to be the aggressor between the opening batters. The young batter has raced to his maiden fifty and would be eyeing a century in only his second One-Day International match. 

Maaz Sadaqat completed his maiden half-century in ODIs in the ninth over of the clash. The left-handed batter reached the milestone with a four in 31 balls. Having scored more than 80% of the runs in the innings, the 20-year-old is making a statement after performing poorly in his debut match. 

Bangladesh is looking clueless out there. Searching for that opening wicket, the hosts seem to have tried everything in the first eight overs. And now they have also burned a review for a caught behind. Tasking Ahmed, coming off an expensive first spell, appealed for a caught behind on the first ball of the eighth over. He was joined by wicketkeeper Litton Das to challenge the on-field decision. However, ultra-edge revealed no bat as the Banlga Tigers wasted their first review. To make things worse, Taskin was struck for a six in the over. 

Sahibzada Farhan takes a smart review call after being adjudged out by the on-field umpire. The Pakistani batter was given LBW before he made the T signal. Bangladesh is still searching for that first wicket of the clash. 

Having debuted in the previous game, Maaz Sadaqat is showing why he is one of the best talents in Pakistan cricket. The 20-year-old left-handed batter has raced to 36 off 16 deliveries, having hit three sixes and three fours each. Bangladesh’s star pacer, Nahid Rana, too was clobbered for a six by the young batter in his first over. 

The Pakistan got off to an aggressive start in the second ODI, reaching 30/0 after 3 overs against the Bangladesh national cricket team. Taskin Ahmed kept the first over tight, conceding just a boundary as Pakistan moved to 4/0 after 1 over. In the next over, Mustafizur Rahman was taken on by Maaz Sadaqat, who struck two fours to push the score to 14/0 after 2 overs. The third over proved expensive for Taskin as Sadaqat dominated with a couple of big hits, including a six off a no-ball and another maximum over mid-wicket. Pakistan added 16 runs in the over to race to 30/0, with Sadaqat leading the charge early on.

The Pakistan national cricket team made a steady start in the second ODI, reaching 14/0 after 2 overs against the Bangladesh national cricket team. In the opening over, Taskin Ahmed kept things tight but conceded a boundary when Sahibzada Farhan flicked a delivery off his pads, helping Pakistan move to 4/0 after 1 over. The second over from Mustafizur Rahman proved expensive as Maaz Sadaqat struck two consecutive boundaries through the off side. Pakistan added 10 runs in the over to reach 14/0 after 2 overs, with Farhan and Sadaqat looking comfortable at the crease.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz looks back at the 1st ODI

In a must-win clash, the Pakistan national cricket team are likely to tweak their batting order after being bowled out for just 114 in the first ODI. Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi will expect a better start from his inexperienced top order after four debutants struggled in the opener. The middle order will rely heavily on Mohammad Rizwan and Agha Salman to steady the innings against spin. Meanwhile, pacer Haris Rauf could return to strengthen the bowling attack. Pakistan’s bowlers will also need improved discipline in the powerplay to stop Bangladesh from getting another strong start.

A new-look Pakistan national cricket team suffered a heavy defeat in the first ODI of the three-match series as Bangladesh national cricket team dominated from start to finish. Nahid Rana delivered a fiery spell, claiming his maiden ODI five-wicket haul and helping bowl Pakistan out for just 115 — their lowest total against Bangladesh. In reply, Tanzid Hasan scored an unbeaten 67 to guide the hosts to a comfortable win with nearly 35 overs remaining. Pakistan now face pressure after a poor ICC Men’s T20 World Cup campaign and this crushing loss, while Bangladesh will look to seal the series with another strong performance.
