Parliament Monsoon Session Day 16 LIVE: The Income-Tax (No.2) Bill, 2025 Passed In Lok Sabha

Members of Parliament from Opposition parties in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will hold a march today from Makar Dwar in Parliament to the Election Commission office at Nirvachan Sadan in Delhi. The march will start at 11:30 a.m. and will pass through Transport Bhawan. The Delhi Police said that no permission had been sought for the march. Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh stated that INDIA Bloc MPs will protest against the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar and raise allegations of voter fraud in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Digvijaya Singh’s Allegations on Voter Fraud

During a press conference, Digvijaya Singh alleged that Booth Level Officers filled out fake forms in one room. He said, “Rahul Gandhi put forward such facts that no one could deny… The name of one person appeared at multiple locations, including polling booths… Rahul Gandhi’s demand was for electronic data of the voter list, which could be scanned using software to determine how many votes were cast on a single EPIC number.”

Singh questioned why the SIR was happening in Bihar within one month when it had taken two years during a similar process in 2003.

Parliament’s Agenda for the Day

The Lok Sabha will begin proceedings at 11 a.m. with questions from a separate list. Ministers from different departments will lay papers, including Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for Culture, Jayant Chaudhary and Sukanta Majumdar for Education, Pankaj Chaudhary for Finance, and Kirtivardhan Singh for Environment, Forest and Climate Change. The agenda includes committee reports, ministerial statements, and legislative matters.

The Standing Committee on External Affairs will present the Eighth Report on India’s Indian Ocean Strategy, while the Standing Committee on Finance will present its Twenty-fifth Report on the Competition Commission of India’s evolving role in the economy and digital sector.

Key Committee Reports in Lok Sabha

C.M. Ramesh and Bhola Singh will present two Standing Committee on Railways reports on the construction and maintenance of rail tunnels and bridges and actions taken regarding the 2025–26 Demands for Grants. Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Rodmal Nagar will submit four action-taken reports for the Standing Committee on Water Resources relating to the 2024–25 and 2025–26 Demands for Grants for the Departments of Drinking Water and Sanitation and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation. The Standing Committee on Rural Development will present reports on ‘Clean and Green Village: Role of Panchayats’ and the 2025–26 Demands for Grants.

Reports on Social Justice and Education

P.C. Mohan and Anoop Pradhan Valmiki will table three action-taken reports for the Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment. These will cover the Ministries of Social Justice and Empowerment, Tribal Affairs, and Minority Affairs. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam and Darshan Singh Choudhary will present the 362nd Report for the Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports.

The report outlines actions taken on implementing the 2020 National Education Policy in Higher Education. With a packed legislative agenda, Parliament will discuss multiple sectors, including education, infrastructure, social justice, rural development, environment, and economic policy.
