On Independence Day, two groups clashed while participating in a Tiranga Yatra in Lucknow. The event resulted in one person being hurt.
One person was hurt when two groups of people participating in the Tiranga Yatra (tricolor parade) fought in Lucknow on Monday. The event occurred in Lucknow’s Bangla Bazar neighbourhood, within the jurisdiction of the Ashiana police station.
People also threw stones at each other, causing two stores to be partially destroyed. The stone-pelting lasted a minute, and the overall brawl lasted five minutes. Police officers arrived and got the incident under control.
“After getting information about the incident, police arrived on the scene and got the situation under control. A complaint has been filed, and the assailants will be apprehended shortly “Piyush Mordia, Joint Commissioner of Police Law, and Order informed the news agency.
According to the police, two groups collided as a result of a power struggle. One group was from Telibagh, while the other was from Bangla Bazar.
Locals denied any community connection. According to the shopkeepers, one of the group’s kids entered a shop to rescue himself from being attacked, and as a result, the shops became targets for miscreants.
“Due to some earlier rivalry, a group of men from the first yatra flung stones on the second yatra during Tiranga Yatra, causing some cars to be destroyed and a person to get minor injuries. A case has been filed, and an arrest squad has been formed,” Piyush Mordia said.
