A zero FIR has been made against “unknown miscreants and Meira Paibes” in relation to the kidnapping, assault, and rape of an 18-year-old Kuki woman in Manipur.
According to a copy of the FIR , the victim was “handed over to four armed men wearing black clothes.”
The Indian Penal Code (IPC), sections 354 (outraging a woman’s modesty), 307 (attempt to murder), 364 (kidnapping), 376 (gang rape), and 506 (criminal intimidation), as well as the pertinent portions of the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, are all cited in the allegations.
The 18-year-old victim said that the ‘Arambai Meiteis’ mob was responsible for the horrible attack in her video testimony to media.
What does the FIR say?
According to the FIR, four guys kidnapped her on the evening of May 15 about 5 p.m., took her to Wangkhei Ayangpali, punched and hit her there, and then phoned the Meira Paibis. After hearing one of the women order the “Arambai Tengol” to be called, four armed men wearing black shirts “with some logos on their back” appeared. The attackers then took her away and shot her in the butt with their weapons.
Three of the four armed men raped her on a mountaintop. They were debating whether or not to kill her because doing so would draw the attention of the police.
She cried out in desperation, “I looked around and fell on the feet of one of these men who looked the eldest and started begging for my life,” the FIR records.
The survivor was accidentally hit by the automobile as one of them attempted to turn it around, causing him to fall from the mountaintop. She was later discovered by an autorickshaw driver, who dropped her off in Imphal’s New Lambulane neighbourhood after hiding her behind a load of veggies.
