New Delhi: Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, along with Indian Army Chief General Dalbir Singh and Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha will visit Pathankot in Punjab on Tuesday in the wake of a terror attack at the air base that has killed seven personnel.
The visit comes as combing operations are under way at the air force base where a battle between security forces and terrorists went on for three days.
The defence ministry and the NSG have so far confirmed the killing of five terrorists. Sources said a sixth body found is yet to be identified.
At least seven Indian army men have been killed in the attack since the terrorists who infiltrated an Indian Air Force base in Pathankot on January 02. The victims included an officer of the National Security Guards (NSG), an IAF Garud commando and five Defence Services Corps (DSC) personnel, were killed by the terrorists.
The United Jehad Council (UJC), an umbrella grouping of Kashmiri militant groups based in Pakistan, on Monday claimed responsibility for the attack.
