NEW DELHI: According to a media report on Friday, a player from Mumbai in the Rajasthan Royals team has been approached by his teammate from the Ranji trophy with an offer to fix the ongoing IPL matches.

According to the reports, the Ranji colleague of the RR player had approached the latter offering an amount to follow a pre-decided pattern of the match in the IPL 8.

The occurrence reportedly took place last month, following which the RR player informed a senior franchise official who reported the matter to the Anti-Corruption & Security Unit (ACSU).

The RR player of the cash-rich Twenty20 league also shared that the person who approached him shared the dressing room with him during the Ranji trophy and is not a part of IPL 2015.

In the last season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), players S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan were arrested by the police on the charges of spot-fixing.

The shame also witnessed the Supreme Court forcing the then BCCI President N Srinivasan to quit from his role after his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan was announced guilty of betting.
