NEW DELHI: Surrendering to their second straight loss in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 8, Captain of Mumbai Indians Rohit Sharma on Sunday stated that his batsmen were out to poor shots against Preity Zinta’s Kings XI Punjab in Mumbai.

As Kings XI Punjab won the game with 18 runs at the Wankhade Stadium, skipper Sharma expressed, “I think we lost the game in the first six overs itself. We lost too many wickets.”

Following Mumbai Indians finish at 159 for 7 replying to Kings XI Punjab’s 177 for 5; 27-year-old star player said that his team played some stupid shots in the chase. “We have some work to be done,” he said.

Praising Harbhajan Singh and Jagadeesha Suchith who took only 37 balls to form a 100-run partnership, Sharma said, “They (Suchith and Harbhajan) played really well and we can learn a lot from Bhajji and Suchith.”

Harbhajan Singh, who was dismissed by India Cricket Captain MS Dhoni for the World Cup 2015 team scored a scintillating 24-ball 64, while Suchith remained unbeaten on 34.
