Google on Tuesday marked the 124th birth anniversary of great social reformer Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar with changing its doodle to an image of the great Indian leader.
The doodle showing an image of BR Ambedkar is a tribute to the economist and social reformer of the Indian constitution.
Apart from India, doodle is also visible on home page in seven other countries, including Argentina, Chile, Ireland, Peru, Poland, Sweden and The United Kingdom.
Ambedkar, popularly known as Babasaheb was a social reformer who campaigned for Dalits, Women’s Empowerment and Untouchability. He was conferred with the Bharat Ratna in 1990.
Political parties have planned to start year-long celebrations of BR Ambedkar’s birth anniversary (Ambedkar Jayanti) from his birth place Mhow in Madhya Pradesh.
Dr. Ambedkar died on December 6, 1956 in the national capital.
