Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a 15-year-old boy was abducted and mercilessly killed in Secunderabad. The boy’s body was found in a TV box with his hands tied with a rope near Alpha hotel on Thursday morning. 
The body of Abhay Modani, a Class 10 student, was stuffed in a TV packaging box and abandoned along the road near Alpha Hotel in Secunderabad.
The victim is was kidnapped on Wednesday while he was on his way to a tiffin centre near his house, but when he did not return home his father Rajkumar Modani enquired about his whereabouts and later lodged a complaint with Shahinayath Gunj police station.
The abductors made a call at around 10 pm at Abhay’s house and asked for a ransom of Rs. 5 crore. As the police started to trace the call they received information that the body of a boy being found in a carton box near Secunderabad’s Alpha hotel.
Footage recorded on CCTV in the area shows Abhay riding pillion on a two-wheeler with a youngster, who appeared to be familiar to him.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Venkateshwara Rao has announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for anyone giving information about him.
Ten special police teams have been formed to arrest those involved in the kidnapping and murder. They suspect business rivals of the boy’s father to be behind the crime.
