New Delhi: Ram Madhav is a senior BJP leader and in-charge of Kashmir and Assam. He had served as the national spokesperson of theRashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh from 2003-2014. Madhav was deputed to the Bharatiya Janata Party and appointed as one of its national general secretaries in 2014.
Ram Madhav talked about the delay in government formation in Kashmir. He said, “As far as the government is concerned, there is no change in the government arrangement in the state. However it seems, the PDP wanted certain changes in the arrangement, not in the form of the government but in the content. Probably that is only delaying in the formation of the government. Delay in government formation has the potential in creating mistrust.”
“In the content of the arrangement they wanted more re- assurances. Apparently, PDP have different view of it. As per PDP’s concern, there cannot be any new demands. The agenda has everything we needed to rule state for 6 years but the issue is to take the agenda forward but the PDP have to take the final decision.“
Talking about alliance in Assam, Madahav said “The alliance which I have built in Assam has very important significance in the political life of Assam. Today, all the people in Assam got together with one objective, to get rid of ‘impetrator raj’ by Badruddin Ajmal and ‘corrupt raj’ led by Tarun Gogoi.”
Madhav did not spare Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi either. “Rahul Gandhi was rubbing shoulder with people in JNU who are shouting slogans ‘Assam will demand freedom’. Tarun Gogoi’s leaders represent those people. We are the only party who are trying to protect integrity of Assam.”
Madhav also talked about the controversial issue raised recently over saying ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ and said, “Bharat Mata Ki Jai is a slogan of freedom fighters and if somebody is denying to say it, it’s very unfortunate. Constitution says India is Bharat, they should too say it and there cannot be any dispute in Bharat Mata ki Jai.”
