NEW DELHI: The security for the Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Raghuram Rajan has been stepped up after he received a threatening e-mail, a top Home department official informed.
“The said letter was received a few days back. We have taken note of it and the RBI Governor’s security has been beefed up,” Maharashtra’s Additional Chief Secretary (Home) K P Bakshi told PTI here.
However, Bakshi did not share details on the contents of the e-mail and informed that the police crime branch was alerted by the RBI officials soon after the e-mail was received.
The cyber crime investigation cell of police is investigating the matter and trying to track the origin of the e-mail.
