Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed a large Maha Jagaran Rally in Guwahati, Assam. 
Before his rally PM Modi visited the famous Shakti Shrine Kamakhya temple, situated atop the Nilachal hills. After offering puja at the temple, he tweeted: “Prayed to Maa Kamakhya for the development of our nation and the well-being of our citizens.”
In his speech PM Modi shared his vision for an overall development of the Northeast and called for uprooting of the Congress party from the state. 
PM Modi even questioned ex-PM of India Dr. Manmohan Singh on what he did for the state of Assam since he represented the state for 23 years. 
Modi even went on to say that the 8 North-eastern states are like ‘Ashtalakshmi’ and the relation between Lakshmi ji and the Lotus is very well known. 
Modi even urged the Assamese people to vote for BJP. He expressed his pain at the lack of Assam’s development. 
PM Narendra Modi even assured the people that the BJP government would bring back black money and spend the money for the purpose of the country’s development. 
PM Modi even added “Assam has the Brahmaputra but Guwahati does not have water to drink.” Referring to the Assam Chief Minister, Shri Modi stated, “Naam Tarun hone se soch Tarun nahi ho jati.”
