New Delhi: The PDP-BJP government on Sunday stopped Bollywood actor Anupam Kher at the airport who tried anxiously to enter the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar.
Officials said Mr. Kher was there with some sort of agenda to disrupt and therefore the state government decided stop him. The Srinagar government felt that Anupam Kher would be a magnet in the campus for all sort of disruptions.
Anupam Kher spoke exclusively to NewsX and said, “I am surprised as I never announced visiting NIT. I went there as the citizen of the country to meet the students who have shown great courage of nationalism by putting the Indian flag inside the campus. We have never seen the Indian Tricolour on Kashmir soil.”

Kher also said, “Shockingly, they even barred me from going outside the airport.”
Officials said that there was no need for anybody to visit NIT to express solidarity because they themselves had addressed all the outstanding issues which were related to the students.
“I was going there to give them a hug and not to give them any inflammatory speech and nothing justifies the lathicharge,” said Anupam Kher.
