New Delhi: A hit-and-run case was reported on Thursday in Meerut, where a motorcyclist was injured after a Honda City driver went on a rampage.
According to police officials, a white Honda City car with a blue beacon allegedly belonging to a senior IAS officer, hit a bike injuring the rider, following which the car hit an Alto car parked on the road.
The injured biker claimed that the people in the Honda City car including the driver were drunk. It is still not known whether the IAS officer was present in the car when the accident took place as people inside the car fled after the incident.
It is also revealed by sources that since people in the Alto were drinking and were under the influence of alcohol in the car, they did not file a complaint.
The police are probing the case; the complainant claims that he is being pressured by the police to settle the case.
