New Delhi: Yoga guru Ramdev while speaking to media on Tuesday spoke on the brand ambassador controversy of Salman Khan for Rio Olympics 2016. While addressing the media he said, “Had a sportsperson been the brand ambassador, it would have been better.”
Salman Khan has been appointed as the goodwill ambassador of Rio Olympics 2016. Salman Khan’s appointment in Rio Olympic has been criticised by several members of the Indian sports fraternity.
Yoga guru Ramdev also spoke on liquor baron Vijay Mallya’s loan default case and said, “His property should be auctioned.”
Mallya owes a total of more than Rs 9,000 crore in loans to different Indian banks. However, he has only promised to pay back an amount of Rs 6,000 crore to the Supreme Court.
Further speaking to media, Ramdev took on Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan on Panama Papers issue saying, “Amitabh Bachchan should face the probe head on. We have also faced it.”
Big B’s name cropped up in the reports as part of a global expose of International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) and over 100 global media organisations, based on millions of leaked documents of the Panama law firm Mossak Fonseca.
However, he denied the charges saying that his name was ‘misused’ and that nothing illegal has been attributed to him in connection with the Panama Papers case.
