New Delhi: The Uttarakhand crisis, which has been all over the place for over 10 days, started on March 18 when nine Congress MLAs teamed up with 27 BJP legislators and demanded the dismissal of Harish Rawat-led Congress government in Uttarakhand.
The Congress and BJP members met Governor KK Paul at the Raj Bhavan in Dehradun to put forth their demands.
The Uttarakhand CM then met the Governor on March 19 and maintained that he enjoyed a majority in the 71-seat Uttarakhand Assembly.
Before the chaos unfurled, the Congress had 36 MLAs along with the support of six members of the Progressive Democratic Front. BJP, on the other hand, had 28 MLAs.
