New Delhi: CBI has registered a case against a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) official and other unidentified persons on charges of wrongdoing with respect to the recruitment process in the paramilitary force, an official said on Friday.
Deputy Commandant Binita Kumari, posted in CRPF’s 133 battalion in Dhurwa in Ranchi (Jharkhand), was accused of approaching the recruitment board’s medical officers to declare medically unfit candidates as fit in lieu of illegal gratification, CBI spokesperson Devpreet Singh said.
“The officer also asked the medical officers to open new bank accounts and intimate about the same so that the bribe money could be deposited there,” the official said.
The official said CBI teams had conducted searches at the house of the deputy commandant and her husband (a doctor) at Kolkata on Thursday.
