Raipur: A fierce encounter between the naxals and the security forces in a dense forest of Chhattisgarh’s insurgency-hit Bijapur district killed two naxals including one woman.
The following encounter took place at 2:50 am between a joint security squad and ultras in the jungles of Kotter-Kerenar under Gangaloor police station limits.
As per official reports, the operation, involved forces of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 85th battalion and CRPF’s elite unit Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) 204th battalion with the support of Gangaloor police, was launched last night.
However naxals opened fire on security forces early this morning while combing operations were underway, after which security forces took position and launched retaliatory attack which forced naxals to flee from the spot.
Two country made weapons and items of daily use were recovered from the spot including the dead bodies of two Naxals which included a female clad in “uniform”, were found dead.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be known.
