New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday met Iran’s Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, Dr. Ali Tayebnia, on his two-day visit to Iran.
Narendra Modi, before officiating the meeting with Tayebnia, visited the Bhai Ganga Singh Sabha Gurudwara in Tehran to offer prayers.
Modi said that it was a pleasure to start the two-day visit in Iran by first seeking blessings from Guru Granth Sahib. Addressing the crowd gathered inside the Gurudwara, the PM said, “We have rendered significant importance to the fact that we adopt all kinds of people in the world. It is our pleasure that we’ll have opportunity to celebrate the Guru Gobind Singh’s 350th birth anniversary.”
The Prime Minister added that the Government of India is preparing to celebrate the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh ji in the country and worldwide.
“With this, we wish to educate our coming generations about the sacrifice of all our Guru’s and the message of Guru Granth Sahib,” said Modi.
Modi’s visit to Iran includes the agreement to develop Phase I of Chabahar port, which is seen as India’s counter to the development of the deep-sea port of Gwadar, in Balochistan.
